Dear Pinnacle Peak Estates Unit Two Lot Owner,
We are writing to ask you to take immediate actions to protect your property and your neighbors from fires this summer!
Due to the heavy rainfall over the winter, there was a lot of grass and weed growth throughout our development. Janice Gallant, our CC&R Chair, wrote the community about one of these weeds in March. It is Globe chamomile or "Stinknet" a non-native invasive species that has characteristics that will help fires spread rapidly.
Click this link "Stinknet" to see our local CBS 5 News articles on fires and "Stinknet".
To protect our community the Board requests that all of us get out into our property personally or using your landscaper and cut back and remove dried grasses, weeds, dead or dying bushes and trees to reduce fuel to a fire. It is critical to remove these materials from washes on your property to avoid them becoming a fires pathway throughout the development. Follow City of Scottsdale guidance on Wash Maintenance (link).
We should also follow recommendations of the City of Scottsdale Fire Department on creating a safety buffer around your home and walls (link).
Lastly, we request that our HOA members and guests that smoke use their ashtrays rather than throw cigarettes out their car windows.
Thank you in advance for your attention and actions to protect our homes and neighbors.
Sincerely,
Your PPE2 HOA Board
